Engagement Sessions

Engagement sessions is an great opportunity to have the first time to work with your photographer and become accustomed to his/her style. Their techniques to get you more comfortable in front of the camera. We will spend about 60-90 minutes at the location. Our goal is to make you more comfortable and laugh. We tend to make our images that feeling provoking. Some Clients have a specific reason for their engagement sessions. Some of our clients like save the day cards for their guest.

What time should we plan the engagement session?

Photography is all about having great light and location.  We schedule engagement sessions about an hour two after sunrise or two hours before the sun sets.  That way you get that amazing afternoon light, an awesome sunset shot, and some night shots as well.  During late evening sunsets the lighting can set the mood and feeing of the shot.

Dress Options

Stick with neutrals colors, They will be timeless and classic. Try to avoid any busy patterns as the camera sensor doesn’t always like those..

 Should we bring props?

I encourage you to bring something that will add to the shoot and you guys find personal to you as well.  Keep in mind that you can potentially use these photos for your “save the dates” so having something with the date or your initials is a good start.

Conclusion: Have Fun!

Your engagement session should be fun!  Remember these are the photos that basically announce to the world that you’re getting married.  Unlike the wedding, you’re not rushing, there’s no deadline, you don’t need to keep track of hundreds of different things going on.  So enjoy, have fun, and remember why the two of you are there.  We tend to use zoom lenses so we can sometimes keep our distance while you are having fun and ignoring the camera. We might give subtle posing tips a long the way. But we are trying to have you look at each other and be playful. Those are the best shots.
